Man Holds Down “Stone” Dog With Bottle, Snarls & Snaps Unaware Of His Intent

Homeless animals face hardships every day. Searching for essentials such as food, shelter, and water is challenging enough. These precious souls also battle untreated infections that can be life-threatening. A stray dog, later named Crumb, had succumbed to mange that was so severe, it turned his skin to stone.

Rescue workers with Sidewalk Specials wanted nothing more than to help Crumb but he refused to be caught. In fact, he led the volunteers on an eight-month rescue mission. Finally, a man stepped in, and with a plastic bottle, he held Crumb down so the rescuers could place a leash on him. Crumb fought the kind humans and lashed about out of fear. He had no idea that his life was about to change for the better.

Crumb finally settled down. He was placed inside a vehicle where he received food and love. He was amazed that the people he spent so much energy running away from only wanted to help him. Now onto the vet! Crumb had a host of problems but the vet and his new friends were determined to get this pup healthy, both mentally and physically.

The dog that had turned to stone had to learn to accept all the good around him. What follows is a beautiful journey toward healing, comfort, and unwavering love. This deserving dog says goodbye to the cold, hard streets for good and we couldn’t be happier! We are eternally grateful for rescue groups like Sidewalk Specials who never give up on animals in need. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! To see Crumb’s full story, check it out below.
